Dr. Peggy Chen is an independent doctor of optometry serving the Pearl Harbor, Hawaii area. We are located within the Pearl Harbor Navy Exchange.
When you visit us for an eye exam, our optometrist, Dr. Peggy Chen will evaluate your visual health. This includes general eye examinations for correction of farsightedness, nearsightedness, presbyopia, and astigmatism. The doctors also diagnose, manage and treat diseases and disorders of the visual system. Thorough examinations of the external and internal structure of the eyes are performed to evaluate for many ocular conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, retinal disorders, and systemic disorders including hypertension and diabetes.
Dr. Peggy Chen, O.D.
Dr. Peggy Chen is the optometrist at FOA Pearl Harbor. Prior to moving to Hawaii with her husband, Dr. Chen has lived in Taiwan, British Columbia, and San Francisco. Dr. Chen completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology at University of Victoria. She then earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from UC Berkeley School of Optometry.
Dr. Chen pursued optometry because of its emphasis in preventive care. She is passionate about improving her patient’s quality of life by solving their visual and ocular problems. During her eight years in the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Chen has worked in different clinical settings, such as VA San Francisco and Fresno, private LASIK practice, and community health centers.
Outside of optometry, Dr. Chen is often hiking or exploring new places through unique local cafes and restaurants. At home, she enjoys tending to her ever-growing plant collection and watching them thrive.
